AT&T has notified CWA District 4 leadership that it will not be mailing out IRS Form 1095 until on or after February 15th, 2017. This is the form that provides evidence that you carried credible healthcare, so that you are not subject to a penalty under the Affordable Care Act. This form is not necessary to complete your taxes, it is only necessary in the event you need to provide proof, like in an audit.
Large employers have until March 2nd, 2017 to get these forms to you. Below, we quote from the IRS website (follow the link for additional information):
Some taxpayers may not receive a Form 1095-B or Form 1095-C by the time they are ready to file their 2015 tax return. While the information on these forms may assist in preparing a return, they are not required. Individual taxpayers will generally not be affected by this extension and should file their returns as they normally would.

We encourage all to share this information with interested members or retirees. As well, we encourage all to check in with their Local to ensure that they are getting all available information. There are certainly going to be adverse impacts to our members, retirees and their families due to the chaotic uncertainly caused by the Trump administration’s demand to repeal the Affordable Care Act.
